Output scaled resolution not resizing

Hi,

I’m trying to setup a base canvas of 3440x1440 which is working fine. For streaming i want this to get scaled to 1920x1080, so i change the output resolution to 1920x1080, but the screen in the editor does not change and remains on 3440x1440.

I’ve reinstalled, relogged, restarted, etc. This was working before on another system.

Anything i missed here?

Thanks!

Hey all,

First, I would gently suggest that you set your monitor to 1920x1080 and then set your base and output resolution to 1920x1080 is you Streamlabs OBS video settings if your are live streaming. This will allow you more headroom for FPS and bitrate. Second, try not rescaling your output in your output settings. Rather, do this in your video settings.

Hi VonSkull,

When you are saying that it doesn’t change in the editor preview, are you saying that it looks zoomed in and does not fit the preview window? If that’s the case you could try right-clicking your source that is in 3440x1440 resolution, go to transform, and select fit to screen.

Hi SecSeaBeast,

I would expect that i would need to do this, i used to. Now when i select the output resolution, the preview does not change at all, it remains on 3440x1440, where i would expect it to become 1920x1080 and i need to resize my capture (and get black borders).

Not sure whats happening.

Can you please send us a screenshot of what you are seeing along with your Video settings?

Thanks!

I also have the same issue.

I set my canvas to the native resolution of my screen 3840x1600.

My output resolution is set to 1920x1080.

Within the editor, the canvas where you place overlays and game capture etc has a resolution of 3840x1600.

This makes it difficult to set up an overlay for 1920x1080 and figure out what the viewers will see seeing as the editors canvas is showing my native resolution.
