Hi all-  Please forgive the Noob question.

I want to try streaming some DJ sets for people stuck inside due to Covid.

I’m following the tutorial video but stuck.

How can I display my DJ software (Serato) on the live feed?
I tried selecting  “windows capture” and looked in the drop down of options but Serato doesn’t appear even though I have it launched on my computer.

FYI- I’m running everything from 1 laptop.

Thanks in advance for your help!!

Hey all,

If you are streaming from a laptop and getting a black screen, please follow the steps below.

First, add a display capture source. <https://prnt.sc/s24htx> Go to your Streamlabs OBS advanced settings and make sure “Force GPU as render device” is not checked. <https://prnt.sc/rguh9u> Then, go to settings -> general, and click this box to disable hardware acceleration, then restart Streamlabs OBS. <https://prnt.sc/s07si4> Now right click Streamlabs OBS, hover over "run with graphics processor" and click "integrated graphics." <https://prnt.sc/rbq5l0> If you follow these steps exactly in this order, it should resolve your issue.

Hey there @Hey Mister DJ

Some programs, especially music programs, or things of that nature, like photoshop, fruityloops, etc, use hardware acceleration and can’t be captured without turning it off.

If you can’t find a way to disable hardware acceleration in the program, your best solution will simply to be to use a display capture.

I’m brand new to OBS and mix video with Virtual DJ at gigs. Now that I’m streaming because of the lockdown, I’ve been trying OBS. Everything works great but I can’t get my VDJ video itself to work with any of the capture sources. I have researched countless articles and can’t find what I am doing wrong. It either shows up as a screenshot of the video, black screen or a white screen. Any ideas?
