Can I stream to Facebook without using a gaming page?

Is it possible for me to use Streamlabs for a Facebook page without using a page specifically designed for gaming? I want to use it for my weather forecasting page, but when I use the iPhone app or PC program, it will not let me proceed until a gaming page or specific game has been selected. Any tips?

Hey all,

If you do not want to use a Gaming Video Creator page, you can also go Live in Streamlabs OBS without all the Streamlabs features by using the following steps:

• Navigate to Settings > Stream in Streamlabs OBS
Click "Stream to custom ingest"
• Change Stream Type to:
Custom Streaming Server
• Under URL put:
rtmp://live-api-s.facebook.com:80/rtmp/
• Then add your stream key, which you can receive from here:
https://www.facebook.com/live/create
• Check the box for "Use a persistent stream key"

Hey  Kevin,

You should be able to go live with any page you manage just not your personal Facebook page. You could label the page as news & media when you are setting it up on Facebook. When you go through the going live process, just set the game to “Lovely weather we’re having” and you should be good to go.

I have tried to go live on Facebook, but it must have a game, and if I try to enter something random, it doesn’t let me continue.

I wish there were an option not to require a game title.

I am using Streamlabs OBS on a Mac.

Same.  I was told that I could put in a game, and then go back and delete it on facebook, but that is not the case.  FB doesn’t let me delete it.  It APPEARS like you should be able to delete it, but it never goes away.  The Mac version needs to be updated so that we are not forced to post to Facebook Gaming.  Not all streamers are playing a game.

Becky is right.

I understand this system is more designed toward video game page creators, but forcing any facebook stream to pick a game (only on facebook, not on youtube) is hindering. This product has been a God-send and I would love to use it. I love the remote app feature. The chat box. The sleek design. Multiple platform streaming. this thing is a dream. But my streaming is not a game and more serious in tone and having games forced on it would likely hinder my use of it.

Is there anyway we could find a way to stream to facebook without requiring a game selected?

btw, facebook doesn't allow you to retroactively remove the game you assigned.

thank you for reading and hearing me.
Peace
