This guide is meant to show the basics on how to get started with Streamlabs OBS so you can stream.

Before You Begin:

When you first open Streamlabs OBS for the first time after you've gone through the install, you will be asked to login with your streaming account.

Now after you've logged in, you should be asked if you want to import your profile from OBS-Studio (optional). If you do, we'll import your scenes from OBS exactly how they're currently set up.

For this tutorial, we'll start fresh.

Choose some widgets that you want to use. This is optional, but we recommend the Alert Box, Event List, and Tip Jar so you can reward your first fans for following, donating, and interacting with your stream.

The next step would be optimization, which will try to pick the best settings for your system.

Once all of the initial setup is done, you will then be presented with your editor, which will look familiar to people who've used OBS.

You can add new sources easily by clicking the + icon above the sources list

Anyone who has used OBS should be familiar with the settings menu, as we've kept most of the settings the same.

One of the largest changes in Streamlabs OBS vs any other streaming software, is the Theme Library, where you can view and install free overlays and themes.

We also have the live tab, which will combine your chat, recent events (streamlabels) and stream preview in one window.

Another nice thing is, you can edit your alerts and widgets without having to open your dashboard in your web browser.

Now once you have gotten everything setup the way you want, you should be good to start streaming. If you have any other questions, just leave them in the comments below!

You sign into Streamlabs OBS with your Twitch account and after configuring your settings click Go Live and it should Go Live.
when i hit the "go live" button i just get an error every time i try. It says "we had a problem when trying to recover ur account info, if this error continues try to restart the app. If u want try to start the live anyway" if i restart it doesnt get fixed and if i try to start the livestream a new error appears. This one says "error found while trying to find the streamkey from your account". (I alredy tried to restablish de streamkey from the twitch app and it doesnt work).

Can I stream my Browsing or browser? like people will just see what I do with my desktop?
Userlevel 4
Hey @Fandom Diaries,

You can stream your Browser yes 🙂 You would need to use Window Capture and disable hardware acceleration in your browser, or you can use Display Capture, but this will capture your whole desktop.
My Alertbox and Chatbox doesn't works, someone follow me and write something in the chat but it doesn't appear, i just hear the sound of it! there is any way you can help me?
