This guide is meant to show the basics on how to get started with Streamlabs OBS so you can stream.

Before You Begin:

When you first open Streamlabs OBS for the first time after you've gone through the install, you will be asked to login with your streaming account.

Now after you've logged in, you should be asked if you want to import your profile from OBS-Studio (optional). If you do, we'll import your scenes from OBS exactly how they're currently set up.

For this tutorial, we'll start fresh.

Choose some widgets that you want to use. This is optional, but we recommend the Alert Box, Event List, and Tip Jar so you can reward your first fans for following, donating, and interacting with your stream.

The next step would be optimization, which will try to pick the best settings for your system.

Once all of the initial setup is done, you will then be presented with your editor, which will look familiar to people who've used OBS.

You can add new sources easily by clicking the + icon above the sources list

Anyone who has used OBS should be familiar with the settings menu, as we've kept most of the settings the same.

One of the largest changes in Streamlabs OBS vs any other streaming software, is the Theme Library, where you can view and install free overlays and themes.

We also have the live tab, which will combine your chat, recent events (streamlabels) and stream preview in one window.

Another nice thing is, you can edit your alerts and widgets without having to open your dashboard in your web browser.

Now once you have gotten everything setup the way you want, you should be good to start streaming. If you have any other questions, just leave them in the comments below!

Hey!

Make sure that you are on the Themes tab in Streamlabs OBS and you can download them there 🙂
It no longer allows me to import my OBS scenes from Studios, it just want's to upload my Streamlabs account, Is there a way to force upload studios, or just manually import?
i thought the widgets would be also visible to the streamer in-game, not just for the viewers

During a first time installation, or after you clear the cache and restart, it will prompt to import from OBS Studio if you still have an OBS Studio folder on your PC with the correct files.

If it is not prompting, try skipping the other import suggestions until you see the one for OBS Studio.

The widgets are visible in Streamlabs OBS, which is where they are installed.

You need to be able to view Streamlabs OBS to see them, or your Stream from a Browser/Mobile device.

If you only have 1 monitor, you won't be able to do so.

You can try this: It's not supported by Streamlabs however, here's the Overwolf application for it. It can overlay your chat on top of your game: https://www.overwolf.com/app/Twitch

But how do I clear the Cache in the new set up, the folders are ridiculous.

Hey again!

You would go to Settings (The gear in the top right corner) --> General and it's one of the first options.

Delete Cache and Restart. Click it and it will reset everything for you.
okay so after youve done this how do you go live on twitch ?

You sign into Streamlabs OBS with your Twitch account and after configuring your settings click Go Live and it should Go Live.
