First, try the following:

  • Install Microsoft C++ Redistributables for 2017 and restart your PC after you do.
  • Log out from Streamlabs OBS, restart the application as an administrator and log back in.
  • Double-check your stream key if this is still correct.
  • If using Advanced Output Mode and using NVENC/AMD make sure GPU is set to "0".
  • If signed into Streamlabs OBS with Twitch - run the auto-optimizer found in General Settings
  • Please make sure you have 2FA enabled on your Twitch account.

If above did not work and or if you get the following error: Invalid Path or Connection URL. Please check your settings to confirm that they are valid.

  1. Go to Settings > Advanced and scroll down to the Bind to IP option.
  2. Change it from Default to your local machines. It should begin with 192.168.x.x or 10.0.x.x. (or another combination of numbers).
  3. Try to go live again.

If above did not work and or if you get an error

  1. Go to Stream in Settings
  2. Select a different service than you want to use.
  3. Select the streaming service you want to use again (this reloads the available servers).
  4. Select the server you want to use (do not use auto)
  5. Try going live again.

There are two ways you can go Live to YouTube from Streamlabs OBS:

  1. • Login to Streamlabs OBS with your YouTube account.
    • Press “Go Live” in Streamlabs OBS at the bottom right. A new event is automatically created.
  2. • Create a new event on the YouTube dashboard (new Dashboard).
    • Click “Go Live” in Streamlabs OBS.
    • Choose the created event from the drop-down section in the Go Live window.
    • Press “Confirm & Go Live”.

If you click Go Live and then click Confirm & Go Live but you get no error:

  • This is only for NVENC, you can check to see if you are using NVENC or NVENC (new) in Settings > Output
  1. Open Geforce Experience, click Drivers.
  2. Then click the 3 dots next to the driver if it's up-to-date, then click Reinstall Driver, if it's not up-to-date, click Download.
  3. Wait for it to download then click Custom Installation and check the box for Perform Clean Install when prompted, it will be on the bottom left of the custom install window.
  4. Continue to install and let it run.
  5. Once finished, try to go live with NVENC or NVENC (new).
  • For AMD, OBS Project has a solution on their forums that could help you resolve this issue but if you do it, you do it at your own risk.

If you are still having issues going live you could also clear user data.

Hi there!

Could you provide a little more detail about your issue?

Are you saying you are able to get your Laptop to capture but not your PS4?

Do you have a capture card? Can you show me a screenshot of the issue?

If you would like to post a new thread you may do so here: https://howto.streamlabs.com/streamlabs-obs-19
I’m streaming from Mixer (trying to at least), and I get the slobs client error can’t find server. I went through all the steps mentioned above, also uninstalled, deleted appdata (both streamlabs and slobs client), and reinstalled, and am still having no success. I also tried manually selecting my output quality, to no effect. Please help! A chat session would be super helpful.
additional information: chat that i type into my chat box on streamlabs shows up on mixer, but it still shows offline in streamlabs and gives me the above mention error.

Hello! I have serious problems with live streaming on OBS AND StreamLabs.
I got it to work a couple of times before but OBS stopped working for me months ago and I decided to download StreamLabs, but still have problems.

I followed every one of this instructions, but the same message keeps appearing: "Failed to connect to the streaming server. Please check your internet connection."

I can't be my connection, I am connected and can watch videos on YouTube, I can also live stream with Google hangouts, but they are not nearly as good... I have tried everything and I don't know what else to do. I already uninstalled OBS and StreamLabs so many times.

I am streaming from China, so I need a VPN to connect to YT, I thought maybe that was a problem, but I am not sure anymore... What else should I do?!

Hi there!

Please try this:

Go to Settings > Advanced and scroll down to the Bind to IP option. Change it from Default to your local machines. It should begin with `192.168.x.x` or `10.0.x.x` or any that are just numbers. Try to go live again.

I already did! I did all the steps in this post, nothing worked 😥

It could be that your VPN is not ready or stable enough for streaming. To verify you could try OBS Studio, with the same settings, and see if you can go live properly with OBS Studio. If not, then your stream connection is being blocked.

I had it first with OBS and it stopped working, so I tried with Stream Labs and the same. If my streams is blocked, is it the software? Because I can stream directly on YouTube so I am guessing is not them... How can I fix it? Should I submit a ticket? 😞 I really liked to stream with OBS, makes it so professional....

Hi Lindo,

If both programs are having the same issue then it's not necessarily the software. It could just be the VPN. Unfortunately all that was suggested in this post should have resolved the common issues.

I can suggest that you join our support Discord and perhaps someone can dig further into this for you.
